The Cullman Times May 2004
The only correct way to dispose of used motor oil is to recycle it, officials say.
Cullman County has several locations that accept motor oil for recycling. Persons should collect the oil in a sealed container (a plastic milk jug or 2-liter soda bottle) and recycle in a timely manner. Quantities of less than five gallons are generally accepted. Drop-off sites locally include Advance Auto Parts; Auto Zone Parts Store: Cullman County Road Department; Express Oil Change; O’Reilly Auto Parts; Skill Lube; Texaco Express Lube; and Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express. Used motor oil should never be mixed with any other substance, be used to kill weeds or for dust abatement.
