Establishing a Used Oil Management Program

Community awareness and statewide recognition are essential elements in the successful operation of used oil collection. Project R.O.S.E. conducts regular media campaigns, publicizing information for residents seeking local collection center information.

The program produces educational and promotional materials, which are provided free to Alabama citizens upon request to businesses, civic groups, environmental organizations, trade associations and state agencies for inclusion with outside correspondence.

This part of the web site is intended to serve as an advisory resource for individuals or organization interested in establishing used oil collection and recycling programs in their respective communities.

Project R.O.S.E. does not imply that the listed guidelines preempt any federal, state or local regulations regarding used oil management, and further encourages any party interested in beginning an oil recycling program to contact the appropriate authorities before doing so.
