1. USED MOTOR OIL RE-REFINING AND RECYCLING - A Grade 7-12 Classroom Curriculum
Oil has many uses in our everyday world, and is an energy resource not to be taken for granted. Join Project R.O.S.E. as we trace the formation, discovery and extraction of oil from the earth. Come learn how oil undergoes a splitting process in order for us to use it. Did you know that jet fuel, wax, and asphalt come from oil? Crude oil is also made into lubricating oil; how does this occur and why is oil so important to an engine? How can used motor oil affect our environment and how do responsible citizens dispose of it?
We will also explore the importance of recycling, and why pollution is considered a resource out of place.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call Project R.O.S.E. Please contact us with any questions, findings, and input you may have. We look forward to a greater public understanding of the used motor oil problem and its solution in Alabama. Thank you for caring about our environment.
